Research Interests
My current research is primarily on developing new laboratory and mass spectrometer techniques for measurement of low concentrations and isotopic composition of U-series within ice cores. This work is in collaboration with the EPICA core group, which will allow us to fully test this method on well-established samples. Future work will be geared toward making full use of records to investigate global climate and environmental changes by correlation of absolute ages between the ice core record and the oceanic and continental records. In addition, absolute chronology can be used to determine the relationship between events in the climate record; determining synchronicity or offset between events can establish causality between two climatic records.
